GXU Co-constructed Confucius Institute in Suphanburi Holds the 2024 Board Meeting in Guangxi

On April 26th, 2024, the annual board meeting of the Confucius Institute in Suphanburi jointly established by Guangxi University (hereinafter referred to as Suphanburi Confucius Institute) was held at GXU. Mr. Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of Guangxi University and Chinese Chairman of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute, Mrs. Pacharee Suankaew, Vice President of Suan Dusit University (formerly known as Suan Dusit Rajabhat University) and Trustees of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute, Mrs. Waranee Vessoontorntep, Mrs. Pornchanit Kaew-nate, as well as Mrs. Apiradee Polprasert, Thai Director of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute, and Mrs. Wei Yubing, Chinese Director of the Institute, attended the meeting.

Mr. Xiao Jianzhuang warmly welcomed the visit of the board members of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute and introduced the development of GXU and the achievements of the Confucius Institute since its establishment. He stated that the Confucius Institute is a bridge and window for strategic cooperation between Guangxi University and Suan Dusit University. With the joint efforts of the two universities, the Suphanburi Confucius Institute has developed steadily and made outstanding achievements in 2023, playing an important role in the exchanges between the two universities. GXU attaches great importance to the construction of the Confucius Institute and will continue to provide strong support for its development. It is hoped that both sides will further innovate cooperation models, allowing the Confucius Institute to play a greater role in serving the people of both countries.

Mrs. Pornchanit Kaew-nate, on behalf of the Thai Chairman of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute, expressed gratitude to GXU for its longstanding support to SDU and the Suphanburi Confucius Institute over the years. She pointed out that the Suphanburi Confucius Institute has made positive contributions to international Chinese teaching and Sino-Thai cultural exchange and cooperation. She expressed her continued support for the innovative development of the Suphanburi Confucius Institute and her dedication to promoting the friendly development of relations between the two universities and the two countries.

The meeting featured discussions on the Suphanburi Confucius Institute’s 2023 work summary and 2024’s work, culminating in unanimous approval of both documents, underscoring the collective commitment to the institute's advancement.
