Seminar on Research Cooperation Held Among Guangxi University, German Research Foundation, and Sino-German Center for Research Promotion

On March 8th, Dr. Ingrid KrüBmann, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Director of the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion(CDZ), along with a delegation led by Dr. Liu Xiuping, Vice Director of CDZ at the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), visited Guangxi University and a seminar was held. Prof. Xiao Jianzhuang, standing member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Guangxi University (GXU), presided over the seminar.

During the seminar, Dr. Ingrid KrüBmann expressed that GXU has achieved remarkable research results in the fields of natural sciences and engineering. DFG has been committed to facilitating international project collaboration among scholars, research institutions, various organizations, and universities in relevant scientific fields. Through CDZ established jointly with NSFC, the foundation aims to further promote and deepen long-term cooperation in research projects with universities and research institutions in China.

Prof. Xiao Jianzhuang pointed out that GXU has extensive cooperation with universities and research institutions in Germany in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty exchange visits, joint application for research projects, and collaborative publication of academic papers. He expressed the hope to further strengthen cooperation in the field of basic research with the International Cooperation Office of DFG and CDZ. This collaboration aims to yield more fruitful results through student exchanges, organizing bilateral forums, and jointly applying for research projects, among other endeavors.

During the visit, Dr. Ingrid KrüBmann and her delegation also conducted on-site visits to GXUs historical museum and the large-scale structural testing platform for civil engineering. They gained insights into the educational history and evolution of GXU, as well as the development of some of its key platforms.

Officials from the Qinzhou Municipal Government, as well as representatives from GXU’s Research Institute, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, School of Resources, Environment and Materials, School of Computer and Electronic Information, and International College, along with faculty representatives, attended the seminar.

DFG is Germanys central autonomous research funding agency, serving both scientific and humanities disciplines. It promotes the highest quality research across various forms and disciplines in universities and non-university research institutions. It primarily funds projects developed by the academic community in knowledge-driven research areas.

CDZ is a research funding institution jointly established by NSFC and DFG. Its goal is to support research cooperation between China and Germany in fields such as natural sciences, life sciences, management sciences, and engineering sciences.
