On the morning of April 25th, the unveiling ceremony of the China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation was held at Guangxi University. Prof. Dr. Ma Xianli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, and Fu Yuanfang, Director of Higher Education Department and Director of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education Department (Director of Degree Office of the Autonomous Region) of the Department of Education of the Autonomous Region, jointly unveiled the institute.

During the unveiling ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ma Xianli extended congratulations on behalf of the university for the establishment of the China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation. He emphasized that GXU has always attached importance to cooperation and exchange with universities in ASEAN countries. In recent years, the university has focused on four distinctive features of education: "subtropical, ASEAN, marine, and border ethnic groups." It has deepened cooperation with ASEAN countries in joint education and scientific research, continuously enhancing the international influence of its disciplines. This year, the Guangxi government is focusing on building a highland for innovative vocational education in China, serving the common development of China and ASEAN. It has approved the construction of the first batch of 10 technology innovation institutes deeply integrated with regional characteristic advantageous industries, with high starting points, standards, and levels. These institutes focus on cultivating high-level technical talents to support industrial technological innovation, solve key technical problems in industrial development, and promote the industrialization of major scientific and technological achievements. The China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation, led by our university's School of Mechanical Engineering, is one of the achievements. The establishment and construction of the China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation is an important measure for our university to actively implement its international development strategy of "deepening cooperation with ASEAN and focusing on the world." It will contribute significant strength to the establishment of Guangxi as a highland for innovative vocational education open to ASEAN and serving the Belt and Road Initiative.

The meeting approved the list of members of the first Council of the China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation. Prof. Dr. Ma Xianli, on behalf of the leading unit of the institute, presented appointment letters to the council members on-site.

Representatives from five advanced manufacturing leading enterprises in the region, including LiuGong Machinery, Yuchai Machinery, Forestry Group, Institute of Mechanical Industry, and Nanning CRRC Aluminum Precision Machining Co., Ltd., as well as representatives from seven domestic and foreign co-construction units, including Beibu Gulf University, Nanning University, Guangxi Technological College Of Machinery And Electricity, Guangxi Transport Vocational and Technical College, Nanning College For Vocational Technology, Suan Dusit University of Thailand, and Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, attended the conference. In addition, more than 20 international friends, including leaders from the Thai Ministry of Education, the Thai Bilateral Vocational Education Commission, the Thai ASEAN Entrepreneurs Association, and eight Thai vocational colleges, witnessed the unveiling of the China-ASEAN Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation.
