School of Physical Science and Technology

School of Physical Science and Technology of Guangxi University has 91 faculty members, including 25 teachers with professor titles. Among the full-time faculty members, there are 2 professors from Changjiang Scholars and 4 from Guangxi Bagui Scholars. There are 12 special experts and 12 provincial and ministerial level young and middle-aged talents. The college also hired part-time two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, nine national youth talents and three famous American university professors. The school has a doctoral program in physics and master programs. The undergraduate majors include physics and electronic science and technology. It has a 38,000-square-meter physical experiment building in excellent teaching and research environment with sophisticated scientific research and teaching equipment.

The school has advanced research platforms for nano-energy, micro-nano processing, deep-UV LED research and development, new battery materials, renewable energy materials,photovoltaic materials and devices, space astronomical technology and observation. The value of the equipment exceeds 200 million yuan. Based on the school, Guangxi University has established the Nano Energy Research Center and the Center for Astrophysics and Space Science in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Nano-Energy and the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. The school has developed research directions in the fields of particle astrophysics and detection technology, energy physics and nanotechnology, semiconductor physics and optoelectronic materials, computational physics and complex systems, and conducts scientific research on major national strategic needs and in cutting-edge scientific frontiers. In recent years, it has undertaken 6 major national key projects and 5 major projects in Guangxi, with a total research funding of more than 100 million yuan.
