A delegation of four led by Peleg Lewi, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, in the company of officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, visited Guangxi University(GXU). Luo Tingrong, vice president of GXU met with them, and officials from International Exchange Department and Science and Technology Department were also present.

Mr. Luo extended a warm welcome to Mr. Peleg Lewi and his delegation for their visit. He introduced the history and discipline construction of Guangxi University as well as its achievements made in the construction of world-class universities and first-class discipline and briefly reviewed the exchanges between GXU and Israeli universities. Mr. Luo said that disciplines such as engineering, materials science, agriculture, botany and zoology, and chemistry are preponderant disciplines in GXU, and hoped that GXU can carry out more cooperation with Israeli universities in terms of discipline construction and exchanges of students and scientific research in the future. He said that GXU welcomes cooperation with Israeli entrepreneurs in Guangxi and hoped that Mr. Peleg Lewi could help to promote exchanges in technology application.

Mr. Peleg Lewi expressed his heartfelt thanks for the warm reception. GXU enjoys a long history. He was glad to learn that exchanges and cooperation have been conducted between GXU and some Israeli universities. With better epidemic prevention and control in 2021, he hoped that Israeli universities and GXU could carry out more cooperation in biology, medical treatment and new materials. He is willing to organize and invite Israeli experts in China to conduct exchanges in GXU, and to hold innovative technology exhibitions and exchange activities so as to bring inspiration to teachers and students and promote innovation. It is hoped that students could better connect learning with practical application. At the same time, he’d like to invite students from the School of Art to participate in the competition held by the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou and they will try their best to provide assistance for the cooperation between GXU and Israel.
