Guangxi University was founded in 1928. The first principal was Dr. Ma Junwu, praised as the Grandmaster by Premier Zhou Enlai. Over the past 9 decades, the University has grown into a comprehensive university with the longest history, the largest scale and the most competitive with most disciplines in Guangxi. It has cultivated over 500,000 professionals for the country and society, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leaders of Party committees and governments at all levels, and talents from all walks of life.

Disciplines

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 11 categories such as philosophy, economics, law, education, liberal arts, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art. It has 2 state key disciplines, 1 state key (cultivated) discipline, 19 first-level doctoral programs and 1 professional doctoral program, 38 first-level disciplinary master's degree program, 25 professional master programs and 11 post-doctoral research mobile stations. Civil Engineering has been listed as one of the world's first-class construction disciplines. Two discipline groups including Civil Engineering and Advanced Materials as well as Applied Economics and Modern Service discipline have become first-level disciplines co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. 12 distinctive advantageous programs have been listed as the first-level construction disciplines in Guangxi. Seven disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings.

Research Platforms

The University has 1 state key laboratory, 1 provincial key laboratory, 1 national-level international science and technology cooperation base, 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 2 engineering research centers, 2 collaborative innovation centers, 1 national and regional research base, 1 key laboratory of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and a number of national and ministerial scientific research platforms. There are also more than 40 key laboratories, engineering research centers, engineering research centers, applied mathematics centers, international science and technology cooperation bases, agricultural improved seed cultivation centers, collaborative innovation centers and other provincial-level research platforms. In line with major national and local strategies, the university has made great achievements in the construction of long-span arch bridge made of concrete-filled steel tube, green and efficient equipment and technology for pulping, papermaking and bleaching, treatment of highly concentrated organic wastewater, ecological protection of coral reefs and construction of islands and reefs in the South China Sea, cosmic high-energy ray astrophysics and detection technology, breeding of new sugarcane varieties with high sugar, high yield and high resistance, buffalo cloning and breeding, and research and application of China-ASEAN big data, etc. It has won a number of national science and technology awards, and the key technology research team of long-span arch bridge has won the medal of National Innovation Competition. At present, the university highlights its unique advantages in "the development and utilization of tropical and subtropical resources, opening up and cooperation to ASEAN, the protection and utilization of Marine resources in the Beibu Gulf, and the governance of ethnic minority areas in the border areas". Following the national strategy and local economic and social development, it works hard to build a platform for cultivating high-end talents.

Job Categories and Application Requirements:

High-level talent: Profound knowledge in the relevant academic field, capable of leading research in the field to catch up with or even lead the international advanced level.

Professor: PhD degree, under 45 years old, and passed the professor evaluation of Guangxi University.

Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree, under 40 years old, and passed the associate professor title evaluation of Guangxi University.

Assistant Professor: PhD degree, under 35 years old, and passed the assistant professor evaluation of Guangxi University.

1. Grant one-off setting allowance of 100,000 yuan before tax.

2. All positions are established by public Institution and authorized strength, and the salary does not include housing provident fund and social insurance paid by the university, about 40,000-80,000 yuan per year. Doctoral supervisor allowance is about 24,000 yuan per year before tax.

3. The university arranges for on-campus housing to be rented, with dormitory of 110 square meters for high-level talents, 80 square meters for professors, 60 square meters for associate professors and 40 square meters for assistant professors. The rent is 2-3 yuan per square meter per month.

4. All positions are qualified for postgraduate enrollment; high-level talents and professors are qualified to enroll doctoral and postgraduate students; associate professors and assistant professors could supervise doctoral students if they are in charge of National Fund Project, under the direct mentor of the second supervisor.
