Guan Hanzhi Breaks the World Record in Swimming!


On April 20, 2024, Guan Hanzhi made a splash at the National Spring Finswimming Championships in Zhaoqing, Guangdong, setting a new world record. The 2023 undergraduate from School of Physical Education, Guangxi University raced through the Men’s 200m Fin Swimming in just 1 minute and 14.08 seconds to clinch the title.

Before this, Guan Hanzhi had already achieved notable success in finswimming. He clinched the bronze in the Men’s 100m at the Finswimming World Cup 2023 Golden Finals, was part of the winning team in the Men’s 4*100m relay at the 18th Asian and 6th Asian Youth Finswimming Championship, and secured the silver and bronze medals in the Men's 400m and 100m events respectively at the Asian Championships.

Guangxi University has long been committed to its core mission of cultivating virtue among its students. The 2024 National Spring Finswimming Championship, sponsored by the National Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and organized by Guangdong Industrial and Commercial Vocational and Technical University, spans three days. Guan Hanzhi is set to compete in several more events including the Men’s 50m Freediving, 200m Finswimming, and the 4*100m Fin Swimming Relay.
